10 Years of Brainchild searching for the best inventions to claim 1 million baht cash prize

              Brainchild is about to enter its 10th year on air, andto commemorate its first decade in style, a contest is being held under the concept of “Simple, Effective, and Creative” with prize money of more than 1 million baht up for grabs as well as a trophy and certificate of recognition.
     
              40 out of 300 inventions submitted have already been selected by the programme’s hosts Apisara “Dao” Kerdchuchuen and Wichai “EK” Chongprasitphon, science expert Dr. Chit Laowathana, design guru Phanudet “Duke” Wathanasuchat, and consumer guru Punyawi “Por” Sukhakunworaset.
     
                The 40 selected teams brought their inventions before the committee on Brainchild, explaining their functions, cost and profitability. All 40 inventions, created under the concept of “Simple, Effective, and Creative”, fascinated the hosts including the solar-powered popsicle maker, the eggshell cutting machine for making steamed duck egg yolks, a plastic plug for preventing sauces from splashing when pouring from the bottle, a computer case made from used tyres, a mechanical device for car tyres, a home weather controlling system, a broom making machine, a system for drying fish, an elastic band cutter, a Korean BBQ pan lifter, and a safety plug.
     
                 Only 10 teams will advance into the semi-final round. Find out who will be selected by the gurus and which team will be announced the winner. 
     
     
    Brainchild airs Friday, 17 April, 2015 from 3.30 to 3.55 on Channel 3.

    Prizes
     
    First Prize:                   500,000 baht cash prize, a trophy and certificate
    Second Prize:             70,000 baht cash prize and a certificate
    Third Prize:                  50,000 baht cash prize and a certificate
     
    1. The seven teams not shortlisted for the semi-final round will be awarded with a 20,000 baht cash prize and certificates of participation
     
    2. The 30 teams that did not pass the selection round will be awarded with a 5,000 baht cash prize and certificates of participation
     
    3. Three teams will be granted with special prizes and receive a 10,000 baht cash prize
     
     
    Participants Qualifications
     
    1. People of all ages and genders
     
    2. Participants can apply as individuals or as a group of no more than three members
     
     
     
    Rules
     
    1. A competitor can send as many inventions as they like, but can win only one prize.
     
    2. Submissions have to be the original idea of the submitter. We do not allow copyright infringement in any way or form.
     
    3. Competitors must send details and illustrations of their inventions explaining how they work in the form of drawings, photographs or computer graphics.
     
    4. The 40 teams chosen by our committee have to bring their inventions or models to present to the committee at Channel 3’s studio in Nong Khaem district. Only 10 teams will be able to compete in the semi-final round and the rest will be awarded a 5,000 baht cash prize.
     
    5. The 10 teams that qualify for the semi-final round have to develop their inventions based on the advice from the committee and come back to present their inventions to the committee a second time. The committee will select three inventions to compete in the final round. The seven teams that are not chosen will be awarded 20,000 baht in cash.
     
    6. The last three inventions will be tested through scientific processes and will also be tested by 20 people from relevant target groups. 50% of the score will come from this process.
     
    7. The three finalists have to present their inventions to the Brainchild committee again to gain the other 50% of their score. The team with the highest total score will be named the winner.
     
    8. 3 of the 40 inventions selected during the selection round will be granted special prizes from the committee and will receive 10,000 baht in cash.
     
    9. The program reserves the full rights to change, edit or add more conditions without prior notice.
     
    10. Any competitor deemed by the committee violating the rules or intentionally causing damage to the competition will be banned from the competition. The committee also reserves the right to change or cancel some rules or prizes as deemed appropriate.
     
    11. The decisions of the committee are considered as final in all cases.
     
    *Note* All inventions will be judged based on how well they reflect the concept of the contest.
